He walked out of the facility in his orange uniform and the woman in black rolled an empty wheelchair toward him.
Red roses and a photo of a small girl sat in the seat. She turned and left without saying anything, and he went down on his knees holding the picture against his chest. Over at the minivan she was lifting that same girl out in a pink dress, and the child walked the whole way over on her own feet, pointing and calling for her dad.
The wheelchair came out empty because his daughter did not need it anymore.
