As night fell, a stray cat quietly stood guard over its icy friend by the roadside. It doesn't understand death, only that its friend will never wake up again. Though the world can be harsh, divine compassion never forsakes a single life.
In front of its quiet companion, I carefully picked up the departed kitten to bring it to a peaceful resting place. Deep in the earth, under fresh soil. Joining hands, I chant "Namo Ratnasikhin Tathagata."
