Developer built a Flappy Bird clone where you play by physically folding your phone
Nic Conley
A developer built a Flappy Bird clone where the only way to play is by physically folding your phone and people are destroying their eighteen hundred dollar devices for high scores
Meet Rebane who posted Foldy Bird on January second twenty twenty six Its a browser based game that runs only in Chrome on foldable Android phones Instead of tapping the screen you fold and unfold your device The jump happens at the very end of the unfold motion so you violently snap your phone open every time the bird approaches a pipe
But heres the problem nobody talks about Foldables are rated for two hundred thousand to five hundred thousand folds over their lifetime Those tests use robotic uniform motions not the frantic jerky movements of a gamer rage quitting after hitting a pipe
Heres where it gets insane Book style foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold work better because their hinge sensors detect angles with more precision Flip phones can technically run it but the controls are clunky Either way high scores require flapping your phone dozens of times per run
But the craziest part Rebane claims he built the entire thing in one hour without using AI The source code just says You can make cool stuff with computers Go out there and make something The games instructions literally warn play at your own risk
