Slow-motion review revealed that Karlsson had actually missed the ball on his first swing and then instantly adjusted his hand to make one clean, legal hit. Since there was no double contact and no carry, the officials ruled the shot legal and awarded the point to Karlsson, even though it had looked illegal at full speed.
