FOX News correspondent Jennifer Griffin was told by the spokesperson for CENTCOM, Capt. Tim Hawkins: “U.S. forces conducted self-defense strikes in southern Iran today to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces. Targets included missile launch sites and Iranian boats attempting to emplace mines. U.S. Central Command continues to defend our forces while using restraint during the ongoing ceasefire.”

This news comes after the Trump administration indicated over the weekend that a peace deal with Iran was imminent, but then about-faced when Trump said there was "no rush" for a deal to be made. Eliminating Iran's possession of Uranium and nuclear weapons remains a sticking point for the U.S. and Israel.
