That’s why this behavior makes sense. When a rat is covered by hands, it can feel like being inside a secure shelter. Then, when the cover is removed, the sudden change in environment can trigger excitement and increased activity, which is why you might see tail movement or more energetic behavior right after.

Rats are highly intelligent and sensitive animals, and their reactions are closely tied to instinct and environment. What looks unusual at first actually reflects how they experience safety and stimulation in the wild.
