📻 Solar Powered Foxhole Radio – No Battery, Fully Homemade! ☀️
In this video, I built a complete foxhole crystal radio from scratch using simple materials and natural energy.
🔹 6 cm air-core coil (400 turns, 36 gauge enamel copper wire)
🔹 Handmade razor blade crystal detector
🔹 Homemade piezo crystal earphone
🔹 Custom built LM386 audio amplifier
🔹 Powered only by two mini solar panels
🔹 No battery used – 100% natural energy
I measured the coil inductance at around 3.5 mH (3500 µH) and experimented with tuning different stations.
The crystal earphone output is very low (as expected in passive radios), so I connected my previously built LM386 amplifier to boost the sound — all powered directly by sunlight.
This project combines:

⚡ Piezoelectric sound reproduction
⚡ Solar-powered analog amplification
No radio IC modules. No digital tuning. Pure analog electronics.
