Albania And Azerbaijan’s Leaders Mocked Trump For Claiming He Ended A "War" Between Them

The leaders of Albania and Azerbaijan were filmed mocking US President Donald Trump for mistakenly claiming he ended a war between the two countries, even though they have never fought each other.
In recent weeks, Trump has been claiming that he has “ended seven wars,” including one between Albania and Azerbaijan that he said had gone for “many, many years”.
Trump had confused Albania with Armenia and actually meant he helped broker a peace deal between Azerbaijan and Armenia in August.
He has made the mistake on at least two occasions, including during a televised Fox News interview and a press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
“I solved wars that were unsolvable. Azerbaijan and Albania, it was going on for many, many years, I had the prime ministers and presidents in my office,” he said on Fox News.
At the European Political Community meeting in Copenhagen on Thursday, Oct. 2, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was filmed making fun at the mistake alongside Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and French President Emmanuel Macron.
“You should make an apology here, to us. Because you didn’t congratulate us on the peace deal that President Trump made between Albania and Azerbaijan,” Rama told Macron, prompting Aliyev to laugh.
“I’m sorry for that,” Macron said.
“He worked very hard,” Rama joked once more, as Macron laughed again and jokingly slapped Rama on the cheek.
