The hero is Anastasios Garipis, a 21-year-old Greek Vite surfer from Thessaloniki. He and ingfoiler Iset Segura spotted the Hungarian father and his 10-year-old daughter swept out by currents off Epanomi (Thermaikos Gulf) on July 11, 2025. They kept them afloat on their boards for ~45 minutes until a fishing trawler arrived via coast guard alert. Everyone reached shore safely.
