We Planned a 5-Day River Trip... Then the Water Turned Dangerous

Adventure Chasing
We set out on a 5-day river trip, planning to live along the water and travel by canoe into the backcountry. However, after just a few hours, our plans drastically changed.

A major snowstorm had just hit and now everything was melting at once. The river was rising fast, the current was stronger than we expected ,and conditions quickly turned dangerous. What started as a routine adventure became a decision: push forward… or get off the river.

Our adventure then took an unexpected turn and we made our circumstance work. Although we were disappointed by the results of our original trip, we ended up experiencing a fantastic adventure in northern Michigan. We set up a hot tent camp in the backcountry, cooked delicious freshly caught meals and found great fishing after some hard work.
