Corrugated fasteners are zigzag shaped metal strips designed to reinforce cracked or joined wood without using large brackets or bolts. When hammered into the grain, the ridges bite deeply into both sides of the split and hold the wood tightly together.

Because the fastener spans across multiple cracks at once, it helps distribute stress through a wider section of the board. That reinforcement is especially useful on outdoor furniture where temperature swings and moisture constantly cause the wood to expand and contract.

These fasteners are commonly used in woodworking, furniture repair, framing, and pallet construction because they are fast to install and create surprisingly strong mechanical reinforcement with very little hardware visible from the outside.
