عجّل لوليك الفرج
Hasten the reappearance of Your Guardian

(يومُ الحسين )اقرحْ جفني
On the day of Hussein, my eyelids are wounded from weeping

يرجَع امامي بظهر محني
He returns before me with a bent back

(يومُ الحسينِ )اسبل دمعي
On the day of Hussein, my tears pour down

(هل من معينٍ) صوته بسمعي
“Is there anyone to help me?” his voice still echoes in my ears

بحقّ ماء أبي الفضل
By the right of Abu al-Fadl’s water

وعطشِ رقيّة
And by the thirst of Ruqayya

عجل لوليك الفرج
Hasten the reappearance of Your Guardian



باكي الحسينِ إحياءه الخدمة
The mourner of Hussein keeps the service alive

حتّى يواسي غربةْ أُمّه
So he may console the loneliness of his mother

باكي الحسين يموت بكلمه
The mourner of Hussein dies from a single word

بين الضحايا يُمه يمه
Among the fallen, crying, “Mother, mother…”

بصوت الزكيّه
In the voice of the pure one

بنيّه بنيّه
“o My son, oh my son…”

عجل لوليك الفرج
Hasten the reappearance of Your Guardian


لجلك يا مولاي ناذر عمري
For you, my master, I have devoted my life

بليتَني كنتُ وليت شعري
You have tested me, and how I wish I knew why

و ما تبرد دموعي تظل تجري
My tears never cool, they continue to flow

دمعة عيونك نار بصدري
The tears of your eyes are a fire within my chest

وبعد العزاءِ
And after the mourning

أيادي الدعاءِ
Hands are raised in prayer

عجل لوليك الفرج
Hasten the reappearance of Your Guardian
