Bobcats are ambush predators that rely on patience and precision rather than speed. They can stay completely still for long periods, blending into their surroundings while watching for the right moment to strike.

Once they lock onto a target, their focus is intense. They track even the smallest movements, waiting until the prey is close enough before making a quick, silent attack. Most of the hunt happens before the pounce, not during it.

Their spotted coat helps them stay hidden in grass, brush, or rocky terrain. Combined with slow, careful movement, this makes them very difficult to notice, even at close range.

Bobcats hunt a variety of prey, from small rodents to rabbits and birds. Their success depends on timing and stealth, using stillness as their main advantage rather than chasing.
